During the early portion of his solo career (about 1931–1934), Crosby's psychological, normally pleading style of crooning was well-liked. But Jack Kapp, supervisor of Brunswick and later on Decca, talked Crosby into dropping lots of his jazzier mannerisms in favor of a clear vocal fashion. The mirror was afterwards recovered with the wreckage.
